If you’ve caught the highlights from any of Bronny James’ club basketball games over Fourth of July weekend, you probably noticed that the play-by-play announcer actually added commentary instead of the typical who-scored-who-assisted-who-fouled format.
Some of that commentary didn’t go over well with noted Basketball Dad LeBron James.
The Lakers star was in the building to watch Bronny — who is heading into his junior year in high school — play for the Strive For Greatness travel team. And at one point in the game, Bronny drew a foul, which led to the announcer saying that Bronny got the call because LeBron was watching.
LeBron took exception and went to the announcer’s table to have words with PA guy.

Ignore the title of that video, which said LeBron fought an announcer — that obviously didn’t happen. But LeBron did have words with the adult who was taking a veiled shot at a teenager over a loudspeaker.
There’s no place for that, especially if you’re working at the AAU event.
Plus, according to the broadcast’s announcers, Bronny really was fouled. Neither his name nor his father had anything to do it.
LeBron made his point to the announcer and then returned to his spot on the baseline.
