When Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid was a late scratch for a Jan. 27 loss to the Denver Nuggets, a great many people, from fans to media personalities, criticized Embiid.
A big deal was made of him not playing in Denver since 2019, and he was accused of ducking Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.
Embiid then missed the Jan. 29 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers before returning on Jan. 30 in a loss to the Golden State Warriors. It looked as if the big fella rushed back. He looked nowhere near healthy enough to play and the situation was made worse when Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga fell on his knee.
An MRI revealed a meniscus injury in his left knee, leaving the Sixers to figure out the right treatment plan for Embiid. He will definitely miss time.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James took to social media to call out those who criticized Embiid for sitting out the loss in Denver.
Now he’s out with an injury because of it. Not 1 person has went back on tv or their dumbass podcast and apologized to that MAN!! No accountability 🗑️🗑️🗑️

James is right. It is unfortunate that Embiid hasn’t played in Denver for so long and everybody was looking forward to that matchup, but he was injured. It is what it is and he was unjustly slammed for it.
