Many fans were first introduced to LeBron James when he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated when he was a junior in high school.
On the cover read the words “The Chosen One” next to a photo of him in his basketball jersey for St. Vincent-St. Mary in Ohio.
Now, twenty years later, history is repeating itself. James once again appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week, wearing a t-shirt with a print of that original issue. But this time around, James is photographed by Jeffrey A. Salter alongside his sons, Bronny and Bryce.
The tagline for this cover story by Chris Ballard reads “The Chosen Sons.”

Bronny and Bryce, who returned to school at Sierra Canyon in California this week, are both making names for themselves in the basketball world.
Bronny recently rose on ESPN’s recruiting rankings. He is expected to go the collegiate route after high school, rather than the G League, and he reportedly received an offer from Memphis. Oregon is considered a favorite to land his commitment.
Bryce recently picked up his first D-I offer letter, earning the opportunity from Duquesne. His family has a long history with the coaching staff at that school that dates back to before when LeBron was in high school.
