Team USA basketball had its second tune-up on Monday when it took on Australia in Abu Dhabi. It got out to a 32-21 lead at the end of the first quarter, extended that advantage to 53-37 at halftime and looked to be in excellent rhythm, but the Aussies were able to make this into a legitimate contest.
They rallied in the second half, coming to within four points twice, but the United States was able to finish the job with a 98-92 win.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ two superstars looked good in this exhibition game. LeBron James had 10 points, three rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes. But Anthony Davis was the best player on the floor with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field (which included a 3-pointer), 14 rebounds and two blocked shots.
