LeBron James and the Lakers hit rock bottom and their fans rightfully let them have it

The boos in LA have likely only just begun.

LeBron James and the Lakers hit rock bottom (again) last night as they got blown out at home, 123-95, by the New Orleans Pelicans in a brutal performance that had fans in Crypto.com Arena booing their team throughout the game.

You know it’s bad for the Lakers when their fans are boing them because Lakers fans are usually way too blindly in love with their team of stars to show any type of frustrations but those frustrations boiled over during their ugly loss to the 11th team in the West.

Those boos were deserved because the Lakers’ performance last night was pretty disgusting. They went into halftime down 11 points and then got outscored 44-25 in the third quarter.

44-25!

So much for halftime adjustments. So much for showing any heart after the break. So much for being a competitive team in front of your home crowd.

LeBron and the Lakers, who have been easy to laugh at this year, are now 27-33 and ninth in the West.

They are still without Anthony Davis, who is out with an ankle injury.

And they have 10 road games in the month of March. Those road games come after tough games this week with the Mavs (at home), Clippers, and Warriors (at home).

So yeah, things could get a lot worse down the stretch of the season for a team that was supposed to be built to contend for a championship but now seems more fit to be an easy out if it even makes the playoffs.

Russell Westbrook’s first year with the team has been a rough one, to put it nicely. He’s heard a lot of boos throughout the year and heard some more last night.

The Lakers’ immediate future doesn’t seem bright and their aging lineup should have fans worried about the next few seasons, too, because this could just be the start of some really bad times.

The booing may have only just begun.

Quick hits: Former NFL stars who ended careers with random teams… Dreadfully slow PGA Tour player… Steph Curry’s new ridiculous warmup routine… And more.

– With NFL free agency starting in a few weeks now is a good time to look back at 16 former NFL stars who ended their careers on random teams. Torry Holt on the Jaguars!? Tony Dorsett on the Broncos!? Jerry Rice on the Seahawks!? Those things all happened!

– Golf fans rightfully lost their minds over this video of PGA Tour player Brian Stuard taking forever to hit a shot at the Honda Classic.

– This new pregame warmup routine by Steph Curry is absolutely ridiculous.

– A PGA Tour player used his putter to get out of a bunker yesterday at the Honda Classic and it went horribly wrong for him.
