It would be hard to blame anybody for getting Shaq and Kobe flashbacks when watching LeBron James and Anthony Davis dominate once again, in a massive Game 3 victory for the Los Angeles Lakers, 112-102, to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven series over the Houston Rockets. LeBron finished with 36 points, 29 of which he had at halftime, and Davis had 26 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. With the win, LeBron James became the NBA’s All-Time leader in playoff wins, passing Lakers legend Derek Fisher.
The Lakers stars were once again blessed with the supporting play of Rajon Rondo and the rest of the Lakers bench. Rondo was spectacular, particularly in the 2nd half, finishing with 21 points and a team-high nine assists. James Harden had a monstrous 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists in the loss.
In addition to Rondo, Kyle Kuzma scored 14 points and was very efficient, going seven of 10 from the field, playing with great energy. The Rockets led the game at halftime and LeBron was excellent offensively, but the Laker defense got much tighter in the second half and James got the help he needed from Rondo and others to pull away with the win.
