The preseason honors and awards continue to roll in for the UNC basketball program and on Wednesday it was [autotag]Leaky Black[/autotag] earning honors.
Black, who used his covid year to return to North Carolina for an additional year, was named to the Julius Erving Award Watch List. The award is given to the nation’s top small forward.
The UNC wing is best known for his versatility and defensive ability. He is of five Tar Heels to collect 600 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 100 steals and 50 blocks in his career.
Last season, Black averaged 4.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.9 steals per game in 38 starts.
Black was named to the ACC All-Defensive team and was third in ACC Defensive Player of the Year voting.
