With Boston Celtics alumni and the national media alike questioning the elevation of former Celtics head coach Brad Stevens to President of Basketball Operations after the retirement of Danny Ainge from that role last Wednesday, lead owner Wyc Grousbeck made a guest appearance on the NBC Sports Boston podcast “Celtics Talk” to address such concerns.
Speaking with pod co-host Trenni Kusnierek, Grousbeck opened up on the issue of how he and the rest of ownership saw the transition, and why they went with Stevens for the new team president of the organization at a critical moment of its storied history.
“This is a person,” he began, “with a really great basketball mind and unbelievable work ethic.”
