LB [autotag]Devin White[/autotag]’s status with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is murky after a trade request before the NFL draft, and he intends to keep it that way.

White made a post on Thursday seemingly thanking LB Lavonte David for an unknown reason. Fans and writers immediately caught the vagueness of the tweet and wondered if it had anything to do with White’s trade request, but White, as he has done in the past, addressed it in a follow-up tweet a few minutes after.

“For being a great brother!” White tweeted. “Talk daily, life football, mindset the list goes on! Love that dude.”

White did not stop there, though. He also retweeted a tweet from NBA star Damian Lillard, who wrote in response to a fan about being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers. White later undid the retweet, as it no longer shows up on his page.

HC Todd Bowles and LB Coach Larry Foote have both emphasized that they aren’t sure if White plans to hold out or attend training camp this offseason. He does not have much leverage, as it would likely be hard to find a team to take on the $11 million salary he’s due in 2023 and the compensatory pick that could be had from his loss in free agency could potentially be similar to a trade.
