LaVar Ball says family was able to get on same page while together during pandemic

Due to the pandemic, the Ball family spent an extended period of time together for the first time in years, leading to some big moves.

One of the few small upsides to the pandemic has been the ability for families to spend time together that they may have otherwise had. The Ball family, for example, has spent the last few months together in the family’s mansion in Chino Hills.

In that time, the family has made a couple of big moves, most notably signing with Roc Nation Sports after leaving Creative Artists Agency prior to the global lockdown. It also appears the time together led to Lonzo committing to the future of Big Baller Brand.

In an interview on the Say Less podcast that ran on Sunday, LaVar talked about the importance of getting his family together during the pandemic and all getting on the same page.

“Before all my boys take off and get to that league and take off and do what they going to do, I knew we was going to get together and it just so happens the pandemic made that happen. But I said ‘Something’s got to happen where we all together to get everything talked about, situated where there’s no outside interference. It’s just me and my boys.'”

Ball also talked about how rare it is to have his family in the same place. With Lonzo having long been either at UCLA or in the NBA, LaMelo and LiAngelo making stops all across the globe to play professionally and LaVar running a brand, the family has rarely had a moment outside of holidays to be together.

This pandemic has offered the family a chance to be back under the same roof for a lengthy period and for perhaps one of the last times before each starts their own family. LaVar talked about that aspect as well during the podcast.

“…My boys understand the longer we go in this, the further apart we get because you’re going to be doing a lot of other things. One of the things that’s going to happen is…as time goes on, you’re going to have your own family. Everybody has to go theri separate ways. What you do is enjoy the times you can and really enjoy it as far as saying ‘Woah, this is something when we’re all together now.’ Because they see how far we can be apart for so long.”

As one group, the Ball family could be a force to be reckoned. The popularity of both Lonzo and LaMelo could drive any company. If they can act as a unified group as well as use the support system Roc Nation could provide, Big Baller Brand and the Ball family could be headed toward a bright future.
