Clemson hosted a key transfer target on Tuesday as Alabama linebacker Jeremiah Alexander visited campus.
The former five-star recruit, originally ranked as the nation’s top edge defender in the 2022 class by the 247Sports Composite, arrived on Monday and stayed overnight. While no commitment has been announced, signs point to the visit going exceptionally well for the Tigers.
Alexander, a 6-foot-2, 249-pound prospect, has two years of eligibility remaining and is being recruited by Clemson as a linebacker. He was a standout at Thompson High School (AL), where he played alongside current Clemson defensive lineman Peter Woods, who has been actively helping the Tigers’ recruiting efforts. Clemson was in strong contention for Alexander during his high school recruitment, hosting him in 2021, but he ultimately committed to Alabama.
Reports from The Clemson Insider indicate Clemson pulled out all the stops to make Alexander feel at home, rolling out the “orange carpet.” Alexander had previously mentioned plans to visit Ole Miss and Oklahoma, but it’s unclear whether those trips will still take place.
During his three years at Alabama, Alexander appeared in 24 games, contributing primarily on special teams and tallying eight tackles. With Clemson’s semester starting, a decision is expected soon.
