Latest 2020 mock draft sees Dolphins haul impressive offensive group

With the 2020 NFL Draft now just three and a half weeks away, the anticipation for the Miami Dolphins’ moves is reaching new highs — this is a pivotal window for the Dolphins to get things right and help boost their bid to turn around the franchise. And with so many picks at their disposal, there is no shortage of combinations that could be pieced together to give Miami a successful return on investment and help this team win.

After all, this year’s NFL Draft is widely considered to be one of the more deep classes in recent memory. There’s a lot of talent to be had — and no one has more picks than the Miami Dolphins.

But what combination will actually materialize? Joe Marino of The Draft Network has released a fresh mock draft this morning — one that boasts a few unique twists and turns for the Dolphins have haven’t been seen in recent scenarios.

Here’s who Miami walked away with in Marino’s three-round mock:

5. QB Justin Herbert, Oregon
18. OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville
26. IOL Cesar Ruiz, Michigan
39. RB JK Dobbins, Ohio State
56. FS Ashtyn Davis, California
70. WR Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona State

Of note, Marino’s mock sees the Los Angeles Chargers leapfrog the Dolphins to select Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa with the 4th pick. While that may be disappointing to some, it’s easy to get excited about Justin Herbert’s potential behind an offensive line that features two more heavy hitters courtesy of Miami’s remaining two 1st-round picks.

The Dolphins’ offensive line after Marino’s mock?

Mekhi Becton – Ereck Flowers – Ted Karras – Cesar Ruiz – Jesse Davis

With Dobbins and Jordan Howard in tow, it shouldn’t be hard to envision the Dolphins having a renewed sense of empowerment when running the football. And that, more than anything else, should give Herbert the tools to succeed.

In just a few more weeks, the speculation will be over. But as much as the anticipation swells for Miami, there’s still no clear answers on what is actually going to happen. Just more and more exciting combinations of players to help the rebuild.
