Late-game injuries to DeAndre Hopkins, James Conner don’t appear to be serious

Conner and Kliff Kingsbury did not express concern for the apparently injuries suffered in the final minute of the Cardinals’ loss.

The Arizona Cardinals suffered a 30-23 loss to the Los Angeles Rams Monday night. At the end, it appeared that receiver DeAndre Hopkins and running back James Conner both suffered injuries.

After the game, head coach Kliff Kingsbury did not have any updates but did not seem too concerned.

Hopkins had to come out after he was shaken up when he was targeted in the end zone late in the game. It appeared it could be a neck or head injury.

“I’m not exactly sure what it was,” Kinsgbury said postgame. “It didn’t appear too serious, but I have to check on that.”

Conner, after the last play of the game, remained on the ground and was seen limping visibly as he left the field.

Kingsbury had similar thoughts. ” I don’t think it’s too bad, but we’ll have to check on that.”

Conner was not limping when he came to speak with reporters after the game.

“I’m not worried about anything,” he said. “I got dragged down a little funny. Minor soreness, but I’ll be okay. I don’t fear anything.”

It is good news on both fronts.

Because of playing on Monday night, they have a short week, playing again on Sunday in six days against the Detroit Lions.

The first injury report of the week will be Wednesday. We will see in a couple of days whether either has to miss any time this week.
