The reigning WNBA champions are showing other teams why they are still the team to beat. The Las Vegas Aces are 7-0 to start the season, building off their 2022 WNBA championship, which was the first in franchise history.
They are No. 1 in the Western Conference and the only unbeaten team in the league.
The Connecticut Sun (6-2) lead the Eastern Conference, but lost to the Aces, 90-84, on Tuesday. The game was the first between the teams since the Aces defeated the Sun in the 2022 WNBA Finals to take the title.
A’ja Wilson led the Aces with 23 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.

The Aces broke down a bit in the fourth quarter, but the Sun’s late-game push wasn’t enough.
“We weathered the storm,” said Wilson. “We understood they were going to throw that punch, but we were ready for it.”
The Aces have scored at least 90 points in six of their seven games this season and have won 11 straight regular-season games dating to the 2022 season, their longest winning streak since moving to Las Vegas.
Las Vegas concludes its four-game road trip with a second straight game against the Sun on Thursday at 4 p.m. PT.
