Larry Fitzgerald still has no decision about playing in 2021

The free agent wide receiver is enjoying golf and the Phoenix Suns and knows training camp is weeks away.

The Arizona Cardinals are just weeks away from the start of training camp but still do not know about the status of free agent wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Will he come back and play another season? Will he announce his retirement?

He has nothing new to say.

He was asked about it on ESPN’s “The Jump” when he appeared as a guest to talk about the Phoenix Suns. Rachel Nichols asked the question he gets asked everywhere. Is he coming back?

“I haven’t decided on anything, Rachel,” he answered. “I’m just sitting here playing golf and having a good time and enjoying the camaraderie with the guys, honestly.

“Training camp starts in a few weeks and I’m excited. It’s going to be another great season in the NFL.”

If there is anything we can perhaps read into what he said, it might be how he felt being around other football players.

He was participating in the American Century Championship golf tournament at Lake Tahoe, something he does every summer. Former Cardinals Carson Palmer and Patrick Peterson play. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Minnesota Vikings receiver Adam Thielen were there, too. He noted how comfortable it was to be around them.

“Spending time with them makes you feel at home,” he said.

Does that mean he is going to come back because he likes being around his teammates?

Not at all.

It seems odd he hasn’t actually made a decision at this point. But that’s where we are at — still waiting.
