Landry Shamet celebrates joining Nets after being traded by Clippers

Landry Shamet is ready to join the Brooklyn Nets after being traded for the second time in his NBA career.

Landry Shamet is only entering his third season in the NBA, after being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 26th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, yet the guard is already onto his third team.

When the Sixers looked to make a move at the 2019 NBA trade deadline, the Clippers proved to be a match with Los Angeles sending Tobias Harris to Philadelphia as part of a six-player trade. Shamet was part of the deal.

Shamet spent the rest of 2018-19 season with the Clippers, who were of course joined by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George the following summer.

But after the Clippers had a disappointing end to their 2019-20, losing to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals, Los Angeles has made some changes. Doc Rivers is no longer the head coach — making the move to Philadelphia soon after. And now, Shamet is a member of the Brooklyn Nets after having been traded as part of a three-team deal that delivered the Clippers Luke Kennard and the Detroit Pistons the No. 19 pick in this year’s draft (who proved to be Saddiq Bey).

Shamet seems excited about his new opportunity, taking to Twitter after the news to celebrate.

And it turns out Shamet already has a Yankees hat, so he’ll fit right in.
