Dallas Renegades quarterback Landry Jones underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed a reaggravation of the left knee injury he suffered on the first day of training camp in January.
Jones walked off Sunday’s game against the Houston Roughnecks in what looked like a considerable amount of pain. He had thrown 3 interceptions against the Roughnecks, as the Renegades lost just 27-20. Dallas head coach Bob Stoops said after the game that the knee brace Jones was wearing might’ve minimized the damage.
The recovery period is said to be at least two weeks, but there is currently no timetable for Jones’ exact return date.
Dallas will be allowed to add an additional quarterback to its roster due to the XFL’s rules on short-term injuries. The Renegades have not yet announced if they’ll add another quarterback to their roster.
Jones’ backup Philip Nelson took over the duties in Sunday’s game following the former Sooners’ departure.
