The Houston Astros are going to the World Series to face the Philadelphia Phillies, and pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. isn’t taking any risks.
Back when the Astros made it to the ALCS, the star hurler got nailed in the elbow by a champagne bottle, something that I’m surprised doesn’t happen more often giving all the celebrating and whatnot.
But it pushed back a start against the New York Yankees to Game 4.
So what did he do on Sunday night when the Astros clinched and celebrated? He wore an elbow guard.
You can laugh all you want, it’s brilliant. Save that elbow at all costs!

Lance McCullers Jr says he got hit on the elbow bone by a spare champagne bottle during the Seattle celebration, so that is why he got pushed back one game. He threw a bullpen today and says everything is fine. Lance will start in game four.
