Like all prospects, LaMelo Ball will be patiently waiting to see when the NBA Draft takes place and the 18-year-old fully plans to hit the ground running once he can.
Ball is projected by many outlets to be a lottery pick in the draft, which is still scheduled to take place on June 25. After the NBA Draft Combine was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, many believe the draft will eventually be pushed back.
Whenever the NBA Draft does happen, Ball will be eager to get to work. In an interview with Christopher Riley of GQ Australia, he said he welcomes the opportunity to play for any team and also set a lofty goal for his NBA career.
“15 years from now I want to be the best to ever play the game,” Ball said.
Ball dazzled during his time in the National Basketball League. He won Rookie of the Year honors and helped set a number of records during the process. He has proven to have elite court vision and a strong jumper but, like most prospects, will need time to develop in the NBA.
Despite his perceived flaws, Ball has supreme confidence in his abilities and proved to be dominant at each level prior to this point in his career. That confidence will certainly be following him to the next level.
