Years ago, Lonzo Ball created a firestorm when asked about his favorite rappers. His list included many popular artists, like two-thirds of Migos, but didn’t include rappers like Kendrick Lamar. It should come as no surprise then that, when recently asked about his top five rappers, LaMelo Ball had an equally perplexing list.
Ball was interviewed by NBA Australia and asked about his top five current rappers.
”It’s hard but the ones I’m listening the most right now are Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, Meek Mill, Baby Smoove, and I guess I gotta go with Drake, he’s in everyone’s list for sure.”
While LaMelo’s list did include at least one West Coast rapper, it also was possibly more controversial than Lonzo’s list. Drake and Meek Mill are big-time artists but the other three are much smaller in comparison.
On a lighter side, LaMelo did note in the interview that he has listened to Lonzo’s album prior to games in the past but not recently. He also stated had no plans to feature on a Lonzo song in the future unlike older brother LiAngelo.
