LaMelo Ball given 77 rating in NBA 2K21, same rating as brother Lonzo

LaMelo Ball was finally, and officially, included in NBA 2K21 and given a 77 rating, matching the rating of his older brother Lonzo.

In being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 3 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, LaMelo Ball was finally and officially added to NBA 2K’s roster for their latest game, 2K21. Ball and other members of the 2020 draft class were included in the 2K20 version of MyTeam via special cards after the draft was delayed from its typical date.

LaMelo’s rating of 77 is the same as his older brother Lonzo, who saw his rating decrease of a career year in New Orleans last season. The main difference between their ratings is that Lonzo has 19 badges, including four gold badges, while LaMelo has just four bronze badges.

The highest stat group for LaMelo is his Playmaking where he has an 84 rating with an 86 in Ball Handling and Pass IQ. His Outside Shooting is rated 78 with a 95 Shot IQ and 85 Offensive Consistency. Ball’s highest individual stat is his 98 rating in Hands while he has an 84 in Speed and Acceleration. For fans of the franchise mode, Ball has a potential of 88.

Compared to Lonzo, LaMelo has the same Playmaking rating though Lonzo’s rating is pulled down by his poor Pass Vision rating. Lonzo has a Three-Point Shot of 80 while LaMelo’s rating is 71. Lonzo also has a much high Defense rating at 75 compared to LaMelo’s 59.

Relative to the 2020 NBA Draft Class, LaMelo is tied for the highest rating alongside fellow top-3 picks Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. Former teammate Onyeka Okongwu has a 76 rating.

Ball is the fourth-highest rated Hornet with Devonte’ Graham and Terry Rozier rated a 79 and Cody Zeller a 78. Ball, PJ Washington and Miles Bridges all have 77 ratings.
