LaMelo Ball got a bit of a taste of his new city on Thursday night, literally…
The third overall pick by the Hornets spent his first night in Charlotte by hitting a popular fast-food restaurant before his introductory press conference on Friday.
“I definitely feel good,” Ball said. “Last night, I had some Cook Out so that was cool. I just had a little chicken sandwich with the secret sauce and some of the fries. The cajun fries were good, I’m not going to lie.”
The revelation by the often reserved 19-year-old was perhaps the biggest of his nearly five-minute media availability. He told reporters that he is definitely ready to play basketball with his new teammates, some of which he already has a relationship with.

The role Ball will play with the team remains to be seen but his addition to the roster will instantly make the Hornets relevant again on the national scale. He said he is going to go into his rookie season looking to improve his overall game and help the Hornets win as much as possible.
In the meantime, though, Cook Out may need to get Ball on board as a spokesperson ASAP…
