Lakers-Suns recap: Booker and Ayton each with 26 in Phoenix win

The Los Angeles Lakers dropped their second straight game without LeBron James and Anthony Davis on Sunday night.

After losing LeBron James for an indefinite period of time with a high ankle sprain, on top of being without Anthony Davis for the past month, things were bound to be difficult the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night. While the Lakers had a couple of strong performances on the squad without their two stars, it was not enough to withstand two very good nights from Phoenix’s duo of DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker on Sunday.

Ayton and Booker each had 26 points, while the other three Phoenix starters all scored in double-figures in a 111-94 victory over the Lakers. Montrezl Harrell led the Lakers with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Dennis Schröder scored 22 points for the Lakers.

The Lakers have just one more game on their very short two-game road, but they will go to New Orleans to face a Pelicans team coming off of a strong win of their own on Sunday night at Denver.
