Lakers-Sixers recap: Tobias Harris game-winner ruins comeback, road streak

A game-winner with 2.3 seconds left by Philadelphia’s Tobias Harris helped ruin the Lakers’ 10-game road win streak.

During Wednesday night’s star-studded affair between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers, it was Philadelphia forward Tobias Harris who had the game’s signature moment as he spoiled what was nearly a brilliant comeback by the Los Angeles Lakers. Harris’ midrange jump shot with 2.3 seconds left was the final play the Sixers needed to avoid a 14-point collapse in the 4th quarter.

Harris finished with 24 points on the night, none bigger than the final game-winner to help the Sixers complete the win. The Lakers had a 106-105 lead after Anthony Davis made a go-ahead basket. However, Davis’ final play and 34 points from LeBron James wasn’t enough to keep L.A.’s road winning streak alive, which ended tonight at 10 games.

The Lakers defense did a much better job in the game after their poor first quarter, in which they allowed the Sixers to score 34 points. Now the Lakers finally know what it feels like to lose on the road this season while some would look at a back-to-back in Detroit as a problem, it’s probably the best thing for this team to get back on the floor as soon as possible after tonight’s loss.
