Lakers vs. Celtics: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

The best bets from the game Tuesday in L.A. between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at Tipico Sportsbook.

The game tips off at 7:00 p.m. PT and can be seen on TNT and Spectrum SportsNet.

Los Angeles (12-12) has been grappling with a .500 record for a while now. With LeBron James playing in just 12 games this season, it’s been difficult for him and the team to get a consistent flow going, leading to inconsistent results. James played in the last game against the L.A. Clippers, so maybe this will allow him, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook to have a better performance.

Boston (13-11) has also experienced an up-and-down campaign. Jaylen Brown has missed 11 games, and he’s a vital piece to the Celtics’ puzzle. He didn’t play when the Celtics drubbed the Lakers in Boston, so it’ll be interesting to see what adjustments the Lakers made, if any, this time around to prevent a similar outcome.

Celtics at Lakers notable injuries:

Lakers: OUT – Trevor Ariza (ankle), Kendrick Nunn (knee); Questionable – Carmelo Anthony (flu-like symptoms, non-COVID related); Probable – LeBron James (abdominal), Anthony Davis (thumb)

Celtics: Questionable – Jaylen Brown (hamstring); Probable – Romeo Langford (ankle)

Advice and prediction

The betting is surprisingly close and narrowly favors L.A., which is likely because of Brown’s status. He missed the last two games, so a third is possible. If the Lakers are to win this game, slowing Jayson Tatum is the priority, and shutting down Dennis Schroder and Marcus Smart at the point of attack is also crucial. On offense, the Lakers have to move the ball faster, especially when feeding Davis in the post because Boston sent double-teams often and fast.

The Celtics aren’t really dominant in any category, and even though the last matchup didn’t end well for L.A., that might change for this home game.

Take the Lakers minus-2.5, Lakers minus-140 and the over 220.5.

Prediction: Lakers 114, Celtics 109
