Lakers’ Talen Horton-Tucker returning to contact practice, not fully cleared yet

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel gave a promising update on young guard Talen Horton-Tucker.

The Los Angeles Lakers received good news regarding the status of Talen Horton-Tucker, who has not yet made his season debut.

Horton-Tucker has been out since the preseason when he injured his thumb, but he is nearing the date for his return after undergoing surgery.

During Monday’s pregame media session, head coach Frank Vogel gave promising updates about Horton-Tucker’s recovery (h/t: Dave McMenamin of ESPN).

Vogel said Horton-Tucker will resume contact practice Tuesday, but he will not return to the court just yet since he is not fully cleared. However, Vogel said the third-year guard will be involved in the rotation.

Horton-Tucker made strides in the preseason when he shot 36.4% from deep on 3.7 attempts; 3-point shooting was a flaw in his game his first two years, but he can take the next leap if he becomes more respectable in that regard.
