Lakers Rajon Rondo has rejoined the bubble and is in 4-day quarantine

The Los Angeles Lakers could get some much-needed reinforcements before the playoffs.

What’s that? It’s Rajon Rondo’s music!

The Los Angeles Lakers have been without veteran guard Rajon Rondo for almost the entire duration of their stay in the Orlando bubble after Rondo reportedly broke his hand in practice, which required surgery outside of the Disney World campus. However, earlier in the week Chris Haynes reported that Rondo was already back in the Orlando-area and was working out with Lakers’ front office staff member Kurt Rambis. And as of Thursday morning, Rondo is even closer to joining the team inside the bubble.

Frank Vogel told reporters that Rondo is back in the bubble and he is now in a 4-day quarantine, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

If the Lakers play during the restart, particularly on offense, is any indication of their current state, they desperately need Rondo back. If they end up playing the Blazers and Damian Lillard in the first round, they’ll need it even more as none of their other guards have proven to be effective offensively outside of LeBron James. Rondo’s ability to manipulate the game is something the Lakers will need if they want to go far, especially when LeBron is on the bench.
