Lakers news: Anthony Davis (Achilles tendinosis) out Monday vs. OKC

Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis is officially listed as out for Monday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Los Angeles Lakers will officially be without one of their superstars as big man Anthony Davis will miss Monday night’s contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder with Achilles tendinosis. Davis will miss his fourth game of the season on Monday night and it’s fair to wonder whether he will miss more than just Monday.

According to the National Institute of Health, tendinopathy is the degeneration of a tendon from overuse, which could indicate that Davis may need some extended rest for his heel. In the last game Davis missed, Kyle Kuzma started in AD’s place and scored 22 points in a loss to Detroit on Jan. 28.

Monday night’s matchup against Oklahoma City is the first in a set of two games the two teams will play this week. The Thunder are coming off a home victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves over the weekend but suffered a home loss to the Lakers on Jan. 13, 128-99.
