The Los Angeles Lakers have seemingly been active in trade discussions lately, and the bulk of those discussions have focused on upgrading the wing and forward positions.
But it also seems they have interest in possibly acquiring another center. The Indiana Pacers’ Myles Turner has been the center linked most often to L.A.
Another is the San Antonio Spurs’ Jakob Poeltl, and it appears that rumor may be heating up a bit.
Via Bleacher Report:
“The San Antonio Spurs (9-18) round out the list of bottom-performers/top-lottery contenders. Does center Jakob Poeltl fit into their long-term plans? He’ll be an unrestricted free agent this summer and could be the best available center at the deadline.
“Teams like the Clippers, Warriors and Lakers may have an interest.”
Poeltl, 27, is averaging 12.9 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 64% from the field. He is certainly a legitimate starting-caliber NBA center, and he has started in all 20 of his games this season.
