Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James had the NBA world in awe after his performance against the Indiana Pacers Wednesday.
After serving a one-game suspension, James returned to the court without Anthony Davis, who missed the game with a fever.
James scored 17 first-half points, but his scoring output in the second half and overtime seized the night. He ended the game with 39 points after hitting deep 3 after deep 3, including a long fadeaway inside the arc, to bury the Pacers.
After the game, Malik Monk, who played a pivotal role in the win with 17 points and eight rebounds, said James is the greatest of all time following James’ outing.
“That’s what he does. That’s why he’s the GOAT, man,” Monk said. “He took control of the game, let everybody know we’re in no rush. He is going to bring us home, and that’s what I’ve seen. I’ve been watching him my whole life.”
Monk, 23, then said James is the Michael Jordan of this generation.
“He is like our (Michael) Jordan of my generation,” Monk said. “I’m just blessed to be able to be out there with him and just learn from him every day.”
