Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will play Friday against the Boston Celtics, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports first reported.
James was previously listed as a game-time decision. The 37-year-old forward has missed the last eight games with an abdominal strain, the second injury this season that has kept him sidelined.
In his absence, the Lakers have struggled with consistency and looked lost without his stabilizing presence, going 3-5 in the games he has missed with this setback.
James will also be in the starting lineup alongside Russell Westbrook, Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker and Anthony Davis. Carmelo Anthony will return to his role as the sixth man after filling in at the 4 for LeBron.
