Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has missed the last six games with an injury and is still awaiting a return.
James, who recovered from a sore ankle early in the season, suffered an abdominal strain in the second game against the Houston Rockets. James finished that game, but the Lakers eventually ruled him out for at least one week.
That one-week timetable has passed, but head coach Frank Vogel recently said James is now day to day for a return.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported James will return soon:
“Soon,” a source close to James told ESPN when asked about James’ return timetable.
The source said James is “progressing great” in his on-court workouts. However, Vogel said the 19-year veteran has yet to participate in a full practice or take part in contact drills.
It’s not yet clear if James will play against the Chicago Bulls Monday, but there are games against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday and the Boston Celtics on Friday if he does return sometime this week.
