Lakers have fun with pregame intro, bench celebrations in scrimmage

The Los Angeles Lakers had a great time and also played well together in the first half of their scrimmage on Saturday against Orlando.

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to make the most of their opportunity of playing basketball again at the Walt Disney World, where one of their biggest assets from before the season was suspended appears to be giving them energy in a very weird situation.

Even without fans, the Lakers came into Saturday morning’s scrimmage against the Orlando Magic as if they were coming into a packed arena. The NBA has been debuting digital fans on the scoreboards around and while some players have said it’s weird, the Lakers took the court with a pretty  pretty great spirit, as captured by Yahoo’s Chris Haynes.

That spirit continued into the game, including this celebration of an Anthony Davis dunk early in the scrimmage.

The Lakers team chemistry could be a huge asset in a situation where the there is no crowd and where the teams are basically around each other 24/7. If the Lakers can channel their team chemistry into the energy they will need to sustain for the next four months as they chase the franchise’s 17th championship.
