LeBron James had 21 points, five assists, five steals and six rebounds on Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New York Knicks, 100-92, to improve to 35-9 on the season. In addition to the big game for LeBron, Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 28 points, as well as five rebounds and five assists.
After the game, LeBron remains 44 points behind Kobe Bryant for No. 3 on NBA’s All-Time scoring list.
Dwight Howard led the Lakers with 12 rebounds and three blocks to go with five points while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 13 points and Kyle Kuzma pitched in 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Lakers saw several lead changes and ties on Wednesday night against the Knicks, but they rarely were without control in the game as they got back in the win column after a loss a couple of nights ago to the Boston Celtics. The Lakers were tied with the Knicks at halftime at 48-48 but they kicked things into extra gear in the second half.
The Lakers will stay in the New York area overnight as they will visit Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow at Barclay’s Center.
