Lakers could have interest in signing Avery Bradley

The Los Angeles Lakers could be in the mix for guard Avery Bradley, who once played for the team.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a busy free agency period in store as over 10 free agents will hit the market.

Los Angeles has only five players under contract on the main roster — LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Marc Gasol — Alfonzo McKinnie — and limited cap space to optimize the remaining spots.

However, with the new star-studded trio in place, the Lakers could see several experienced veterans line up to have a role on a potential championship-caliber squad.

Players like Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and Wayne Ellington are all interested in signing with the Lakers once the market opens.

Also a possible name to monitor is Avery Bradley. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Bradley is expected to have multiple win-now teams hoping to sign him:

Though the Lakers aren’t specifically mentioned, it is a team that will contend this year and one Bradley has previously played for.

Bradley played for the Lakers in 2019-20 and was a regular starter. He played in 49 total games during the regular season and averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 44.4 percent overall and 36.4 percent from 3-point range.

However, the coronavirus pandemic had hit, and Bradley opted out of playing in the Orlando bubble.

Bradley, who turns 31 in November, will be an unrestricted free agent and could sign on a veteran minimum deal with L.A.
