On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers announced they signed former Michigan State guard Max Christie. The contract details were not immediately available at the time of the signing, but the terms have now surfaced.
The Lakers acquired the 35th pick to select Christie from the Orlando Magic on draft day in exchange for a future second-rounder and cash considerations. According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, the Lakers signed him to a two-year, minimum contract.
Christie was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team last season after averaging 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 35 games. He started every game with the Spartans and reached double figures 11 times, finishing third on the team in scoring.

Christie debuted with the Lakers in the California Classic, averaging six points, 7.7 rebounds and two assists in three games. He has improved upon his scoring so far in Las Vegas, posting 9.5 points, five rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal in two games.
The 19-year-old will have to earn his playing time next season on such a veteran-heavy team built to compete now. However, the team certainly feels strongly about his abilities after trading into the second round in order to draft him.
Los Angeles returns to play on Tuesday at 11 p.m. EDT.
