The Los Angeles Lakers finish the final extended road trip of their hellacious 72-game schedule on Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards in the nation’s capital. However, the team awaiting the Lakers is an even better team than the Wizards team that handed them a loss earlier this season at Staples Center.
Despite their overtime home loss on Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs, the Wizards have turned things around considerably. By trading away its previous starting center Moe Wagner and adding Daniel Gafford from the Chicago Bulls, Washington has improved its defense massively. Since the trade deadline passed on March 25, the Wizards have had a top-five rated defense, according to NBA.com
