Despite having a very solid free agency period so far, the Los Angeles Lakers still need help at the center position.
Once they came to terms with D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Gabe Vincent and Jaxson Hayes, they intended to add another center to their roster. Mo Bamba, a 7-footer they had traded for in February, was mentioned as a possibility to get re-signed, but he is now headed to the Philadelphia 76ers.
One candidate for the center position as far as the Lakers are considered, according to Jake Weinbach, is Christian Wood.
The Lakers, Sixers, and Heat are potential landing spots for free agent forward Christian Wood. There doesn’t seem to be much of a market for the talented big man.
Wood is not expected to remain with Dallas after averaging 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season.

Wood isn’t much of a defensive presence, and at 6-foot-9 and 214 pounds, he seems undersized defensively against elite centers such as Nikola Jokic. But he can certainly score and hit from the outside.
Over the last three seasons, Wood put up 18.1 points a game while shooting 50.9% overall and 38.1% from 3-point range.
