The Los Angeles Lakers’ Big Two makes it so even if one of Anthony Davis or LeBron James misses the game, it’s still a challenge for the opponent to win.
But it would still get easier without one of those two in the game.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will not have to face star big Anthony Davis in the matchup on Monday, according to the New York Times’ Marc Stein. Davis. He is listed out with right Achilles tendonosis, which ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported has caused him discomfort “for a while.”
Davis has played in the last five games and has only missed three this season. He is averaging 22.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.4 steals per game.
On the Thunder’s side, guard Theo Maledon was a surprise scratch from the game when reported on Sunday. The rookie is back in health and safety protocol after missing Friday’s game for the same reason but playing on Saturday.
Maledon has started the last six games he has appeared in. As a starter, he is averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists along with 1.8 steals in 30 minutes per game.
Center Mike Muscala is out due to a concussion he suffered on Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Thunder (10-12) and Lakers (18-6) tip off at 9 p.m. Central Time. Watch the game on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
