Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey is the Los Angeles Chargers’ all-time leading rookie receiver in receptions and receiving yards. McConkey has a team-high 77 receptions for 1,054 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
He set both of those records in a standout performance against the New England Patriots, who passed on him in the 2024 NFL draft. McConkey caught eight passes on 10 targets for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers’ dominant 40-7 win over the Patriots.
McConkey’s outstanding rookie season has helped the Chargers clinch a wild card berth in the NFL playoffs.
McConkey has the 10th-most receiving yards and 15th-most receptions of any player in the NFL (entering Sunday). The Chatsworth, Georgia, product played high school football at North Murray and is exceeding expectations after being an early second-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert trusts McConkey, who is excellent at generating separation. “He’s such a tough player. He’s a playmaker and finds ways to get open,” Herbert said.
