Kyrie Irving upgraded to probable vs. Hawks

Brooklyn Nets fans may finally get a chance to see their superstar point guard. Kyrie Irving is listed as probable to play the Hawks Sunday.

On Thursday, Kyrie Irving expressed at practice he wanted to make his return within a week. It looks like the Brooklyn Nets point guard might just get his wish.

On Saturday, the Nets injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks included five names: Irving, Garrett Temple, Wilson Chandler, Kevin Durant and Chris Chiozza.

Chiozza is in the G League with Long Island Nets and Durant is still rehabbing his surgically repaired right Achilles, so both are out.

Temple (right knee contusion) and Chandler (left hamstring tightness) were both out for Friday’s game against the Miami Heat. They have been upgraded to questionable.

As for Irving, for the first time in almost two months, he was not listed as out. Brooklyn has ruled its star point guard as probable to play against the Hawks.

Irving received a cortisone shot on Christmas Eve and was a full participant at practice this week. This would be the first game he’s played in since November 14.
