Kyrie Irving to practice with Nets soon, Caris LeVert progressing

Caris LeVert is progressing with his rehab, but it’s still unclear when he will return for the Brooklyn Nets.

Both members of Brooklyn’s original 2019-20 starting backcourt are getting closer to their return. Though, it will still be a bit of time before Nets fans see Kyrie Irving and Caris LeVert playing side-by-side.

At the moment, it appears Irving (right shoulder impingement) will be the first to return. Since Black Friday, Kenny Atkinson has reported more and more signs of progress for the superstar point guard.

Prior to Sunday’s matchup with the Denver Nuggets at Barclays Center, Atkinson told reporters Irving will begin participating in team practice in the next week or two. Atkinson also stated Irving is ramping up his on-court activity, per to Michael Grady of YES Network.

The Nets head coach also said Irving can shoot, but he has yet to do contact work, per Malika Andrew of ESPN.

When it comes to LeVert (right thumb), things seem less clear. Though, Atkinson did say, “he’s progressing,” per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.
