On Friday, for the first time since he missed his first game as a member of the Brooklyn Nets on November 16, there was some level of progress with Kyrie Irving (right shoulder impingement) regarding his return to game action. Although the point guard was ruled out for Sunday’s game with the Miami Heat, Kenny Atkinson informed reporters Irving was doing core work.
Prior to Sunday’s Matchup, Atkinson had another update on the superstar point guard.
Irving is back on the floor, though he’s not taking part in activities that include contact — and he did not take part in Saturday’s practice, which primarily served as a walkthrough.
However, even though this is a step in the right direction for Irving, Atkison still hasn’t been given a timetable for his return. Though, he did tell reporters, “I do feel better than a week ago [now] that it’s progressing in the right direction.”
#Nets coach Kenny Atinson gave latest Kyrie Irving update: "With Kyrie, the good news is he’s on court now and working. That’s really good news. No contact yet and no specific timetable, but I do feel better than a week ago that it’s progressing in the right direction."
