The injury bug is evidently besetting more than a few Brooklyn Nets players before they take on the Denver Nuggets.
With Caris LeVert joining the team’s inactive list for at least the short term while a decision is made about the best course of action for the Michigan product regarding his thumb, it seems the team will be even thinner for Thursday’s matchup with Nuggets.
The Nets announced star point guard Kyrie Irving may not play in one of the team’s tougher games of the still-young season. Officially designated as questionable for the contest with a shoulder impingement, Irving would join LeVert, Kevin Durant (Achilles), and Wilson Chandler (suspension) if he’s ultimately deemed unavailable.
Following the update on Irving’s health, the Nets announced the signing of free agent guard Iman Shumpert, who will fill the 6th roster slot opened due to Chandler’s suspension (25 games) for violating the NBA’s drug policy, which should smooth the difficulty of a potential Irving absence.
