Love him or hate him, Kyrie Irving has the ability to draw the attention of everyone by simply making a few comments — never mind what he can do with a basketball in his hands.
This also means everyone is going to take notice to everything Irving does, and he’s going to be asked about everything he does. That’s created some tension around Irving, with the media in particular.
Whether it had to do with one of the major issues currently concerning the U.S. or how Irving was portrayed by the masses when he pushed back against the NBA restarting the 2019-20 season in the Disney bubble, the Brookyln Nets point guard felt the need to share some of his thoughts on the media, posting the following on his Instagram story on Wednesday (via @netsstan on Twitter):
The media’s the most powerful entity on Earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.
