The NBA has been quite generous ever since the spread of the Coronavirus, with multiple players reaching into their own pocketbooks in order to fund the salaries of team staffers whose income would be effected by the NBA’s decision to halt play for the 2019-20 season.
On Monday, that altruism continued, with Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving announcing that he would be donating $323,000 to Feeding America due to the virus’ impact on food resources. The 28-year-old superstar will also help distribute 250,000 meals in the New York area.
Irving spent ample time in the New York area in his youth.
