Through his first 18 games in a Nets uniform, Kyrie Irving scored 483 points, averaging 26.8 points per game — leaving him 17 points shy of the 500-point mark.
The Brooklyn point guard had no issue reaching 500 on Friday against the Chicago Bulls, scoring 27 points on 10-for-10 shooting (4-for-4 from 3-point territory) in the first half alone.
In doing so, as pointed out by the YES Network, Irving became the fastest player to reach 500 points in a Nets uniform.
Additionally, Irving’s 27 first half points are the most he or any Nets player has scored in the first half of a game this season. It’s also the second time Irving has scored 20 points by halftime. The other time Irving did so was his 50-point game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game of the 2019-20 season.
