Nets star Kyrie Irving was seen playing in a pickup game in Los Angeles with new Lakers signee Carmelo Anthony. Irving and Anthony have a long history, competing against each other for 10 seasons. This a preview of what has the potential to be a long rivalry between the Nets and the Lakers, which if it is, it’s off to a good start. The two teams are the favorites to win it all next season, which explains why they are set to face off on Christmas Day.
The question of how long both veterans will remain with their teams is still in the air. Anthony signed only a one-year deal this summer while Irving is expecting a contract extension offer soon. Only time will tell.
