Sam Kerr and Kylian Mbappe will share the cover of the upcoming FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition, EA Sports announced on Monday.
Chelsea striker Kerr will be the first woman featured on the franchise’s global cover. PSG star Mbappe, meanwhile, is on the cover for the third consecutive year.
After 30 years, FIFA 23 will be the final game that features FIFA branding after EA Sports announced in May that its partnership with global soccer’s governing body is coming to an end.
Starting next year, the franchise will become known as EA Sports FC.
Kerr is coming off a season in which she won the 2021-22 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year award, leading Chelsea to a league and cup double while also winning the Women’s Super League Golden Boot.
Mbappe also won his league’s Golden Boot in 2021-22, clinching the Ligue 1 honor for the fourth straight year while helping PSG to a league title. The striker is aiming to lead France to a second straight World Cup title later this year.
EA Sports will announce a full reveal of FIFA 23, including new features, on Wednesday.
