Kyler Murray wins honors for passing performance vs. Rams

He was the FedEx Air NFL player of the week.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was not honored as NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his 266 passing yards and three touchdown passes in Week 2 against the L.A. Rams. Those honors went to New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

However, Murray’s performance did not go unrewarded. He was named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week after a public vote.

He posted a “perfect” passer rating of 158.3 in a 41-10 win over the L.A. Rams on Sunday, the second time in team history a quarterback posted a maximum passer rating on at least 20 passing attempts. Kurt Warner is the other to do it.

Murray completed 17-of-21 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns, and he rushed for 59 yards on five attempts.

He became the second player in NFL history to have a 158.3 rating while passing for 250 yards and rushing for 50.

By winning the FedEx Air Player of the Week Award, FedEx will proudly work with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to make a $2,000 donation in Kyler Murray’s name to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
